White Lion Cafe
by: Kate

A fantastic and welcoming cafe in the heart of Norwich city centre.

Offers support and an extra level of education for people of school age with additional needs.

The enthusiasm steeps through in the food they have supported the staff( students) to make. You can expect Fresh homemade soup, scones, sandwiches, cappuccinos and the loveliest cakes.

Decor includes art work by the students and fresh flowers.
The managers of the cafe really are inovative and providing a valuable service to its students and the public!

Well worth a visit for lunch/ brunch. I’m sure you’ll return.

After finding out that this cafe is part of The Parkside School in Norwich, I decided to visit.

My son goes to Parkside School himself so I feel a connection with the wonderful staff and students that work there, the food is amazing and the staff are lovely.

I'm not often in Norwich but will make an effort to go to this lovely cafe when i am in the city.

Lovely cafe
by: Margaret

I have been visiting The White Lion Cafe nearly every week since it opened. It is a real joy to see how the young people grow in confidence as the school year progresses. Not only a wonderful ethos and atomsphere but also a terrific cup of coffee!

Effective work experience
by: Mrs Wicks

I am privileged to be the teacher leading this project. For most of our upper school pupils it is the highlight of their week, being able to go into the city and serve the public. Our pupils quickly gain confidence and work skills. As they get to year 11(age 16) many of them have been able to step into different work roles in other businesses, near where they live as well as in the city.

Our pupils are now being offered paid work positions at weekends, holidays and on leaving school. Please come and visit the café, it has been described by a customer as an oasis within the city of Norwich. We look forward to serving you.
