Heaton Park, Manchester

by Laura Hawcroft
(Manchester)

Heaton Park is huge! It's open from 8am to dusk every day.

It has two play areas - one close to the hall and the other by the boating lake.

The Lakeside Adventure Playground is new and has challenging play activities in a woodland environment. Accessible play equipment has been included.

At the Northern play area I can only picture a ground-level roundabout here. I think the second play area, near the lake, might have a swing with a disabled seat.

There are animals in the old stable area.

Cafes can be found at the Stables and Lakeside areas.

Parking available at four locations around the park, Blue Badge holders can park free.

Heaton Park is good for wheelchair users with excellent paths.

There are toilet facilities between Heaton Hall and the bandstand and at the Lakeside Adventure playground.

Have a look at Heaton Park's Facebook page....

ANSWER:

Thank you Laura for submitting Heaton Park. It certainly looks like the activities there could keep children happy all day.

I searched online and couldn't find any mention of accessible toilets even on the Manchester City website. I would imagine that there are as the Lakeside Development is new.
