The Family Fund gave us holiday vouchers to take my children on holiday.

They also provided a single bed and bedding as my son has bed wetting problems that have really got out of control. This has made his life very miserable because he can't go on school journeys and can't stay away from home.

ANSWER:

That's great news Caroline. The Family Fund can help in all sorts of ways.

Don't forget that you apply again in a years time.

All the best

First time applied
by: Nicci

Hi there, I just wanted to say thank you so much for the vouchers I received to buy my son a bunk bed.

It has helped so much. He has now been sleeping in his own room tor much longer which means I'm getting a better nights sleep!

I felt so embarrassed applying but a lovely woman came out to assess us and she made me feel so much better about it as I thought others deserved the fund more than us.

But she had me realise every family is unique and struggles in different ways.

I couldn't thank her or family fund enough!

Hi Family Fund has helped my family get away on holiday for the last 8 years.

My son has many disabilities and we've recently been told he has diabetes. We've never been able to take him in aeroplanes as his doctor said no but we've been told that he will be able to go next year abroad so thank you Family Fund without you a lot of family's can't get a holiday.

Holiday vouchers

Hi. I was wondering how to apply for holiday vouchers? I had applied for a tv and clothes/shoes for my son but I got rejected. My son really wants to go to Butlins Skegness and stay in a caravan. If I receive the vouchers can I use them at Butlins?

ANSWER:
I'm not sure but I would imagine as you had been rejected for other items it is unlikely the Family Fund would consider holiday vouchers.
Do contact Family Fund to double check on this.

As a single parent on low income we haven't managed to get away for short breaks ...would my son be entitled to family holiday vouchers.

I've just getting his DLA.

Re holiday vouchers
by: Miss dean

I'm looking to take my son of 9 who has diabetes insulin controlled and has problems with bed wetting on an holiday.

It would be nice to get a little help with so he can have dreams come true. We cannot afford to take the whole family our last holiday was to Devon Cliffs last Easter in which he loved so much he wants to go back.

Can you help?

ANSWER:

Hi do have a look at the criteria for the Family Fund to see if they are able to help you before applying.

Do also have a look at the charities listed in the Holidays section of the Disability Grants website as your son may be eligible for funding from another charity. It just depends on your individual circumstances.

Good luck and I hope your son gets his dream.

What is the value of Travel by Inspire Vouchers for 2 adults and one child?

ANSWER:

I don't believe there is a set amount as families are looked at individually and it depends on their level of need.

Hi I have a little boy that has asd and I need a grant to take him away as I'm on low income.

But is it only Thomas Cook you can get the grants for or can you chose witch airline you take ?? Xx

ANSWER:

Hi Becki
This is the quote from the Family Fund website....

"A direct payment or travel card from a supplier towards a family break. We work with Butlins, Haven and Travel by Inspire for family breaks. Travel by Inspire can arrange flights, UK breaks and overseas breaks with many of the most popular travel companies."

Hope this helps your query.

Best wishes

Just like to say the Family Fund are wonderful. They have helped me over the years for family holidays.

I have a daughter with Down's Syndrome and a daughter with Hydrocephalus. I've been unable to work for years now and their vouchers really do help our family have quality time together.

I apply on-line and it's so quick and simple.

ANSWER:

Fantastic feedback Clare - it's so important for families to have time away together away from the stresses of everyday demands at home.
